This module provides an introduction to our Galaxy and the
methods which astronomers use to gain insight into the structure and
evolution of the Milky Way Galaxy. Following on from the Elementary
Astrophysics and Solar System modules, the Galaxy describes the basic
components of the Galaxy, an overview of the life of stars and methods
for determining distances to astronomical objects. Together, they are combined to provide an understanding of the structure of the Milky Way Galaxy.
